The Vermenagna valley, the area that stretches out in the direction of Limone Piemonte and the Tenda pass, offers a great variety of ski mountaineering itineraries. They register a difference in altitude from 750 to 1.500m, with a succession of beech woods, large descents and appealing rills. All the excursions are located in the Grande valley (lateral valley of the Vermenagna one), Limone Piemonte and Limonetto. Among the main itineraries we point out: Rocca dell’Abisso, Chiamossero and Ciotto Mieu, Fascia peak, Mount Bussaia and the group of four mountaintops Colombo, Garbella, Pianard and Rocca d’Orel.
The suggested ski period is from December to April; of course snow conditions are always to be taken into account.
If the snow state allows it, our guides propose to skiers with a good training level the traverse Palanfrè – Roaschia, with a descent in the Bussaia N rill and in the Servantun rill. An experience not to be missed!
We meet up in Borgo San Dalmazzo (timetable to be agreed with the guide, depending on the season). Transfer to the Vermenagna valley and ski mountaineering excursion. In our backpacks food and drinks must never be left out, so as to avoid be missing energies for our activity. After the excursion we can stop in one of the many huts or restaurants of the valley to taste some Piedmont specialities.
For those of you who are willing to stop for more days and experience the great variety of itineraries available in the Vermenagna and nearby valleys, B&B, small hotels and holiday farms located in the area are the perfect stop-overs for ski mountaineering excursions, good food and quietness.
