Structured over three practical outings on rock, between selected crags and imposing high mountain walls, this intensive program will provide you with all the technical skills and fundamental maneuvers to progress with fluidity and effectiveness on multi-pitch routes.

Our educational program is built on two interconnected and equally important pillars:

• CLIMBING TECHNIQUE: You will acquire optimal movement patterns to move efficiently on rock, learning different climbing techniques, correct route reading, body positioning, and energy optimization.
• SAFETY TECHNIQUE: Your safety and that of your partner are our absolute priority. You will learn in detail all belaying maneuvers for the lead and second climber, anchor management, safe rappelling, accident prevention, and resolving any unexpected situations.

At the end of the course, you will be able to:

• Plan and tackle multipitch routes independently at a difficulty level appropriate to your ability.
• Correctly use equipment specific to multipitch climbing.
• Perform complex rope maneuvers safely and efficiently.

Who is it for

Designed for those with sport climbing experience, both indoor and outdoor, with solid practice as a lead climber on routes of at least 5a grade at the crag, this course is ideal for those who want to explore the exciting world of long routes.

The goal is to make participants autonomous in multipitch progression and rappelling techniques.

Program

INDOOR SESSION

During the two-hour indoor lesson at "GLOBAL WALL," the various equipment needed for multipitch climbing and their use will be introduced. You will have the opportunity to practice building different types of anchors, and the maneuvers for pitch-by-pitch progression will be explained.

FIRST DAY

The first day will take place outdoors, where the various equipment needed for multipitch climbing and their use will be reviewed together with the students. You will tackle a short multipitch route where you can put into practice the concepts covered during the first lesson: belaying the second climber, correct use of half ropes and different types of belay devices. Rappelling will be introduced.

SECOND DAY

During the second day, students will have the opportunity to practice advanced topics such as swinging leads, rope management at the anchor, and assisted hoists on a wall with well-bolted multipitch routes.

THIRD DAY

The final day will be the highlight of the course itself. It will take place on a multipitch route at a location chosen the previous time together with our Mountain Guides based on the students' technical level. This will be the day when you need to put into practice all the techniques learned during the previous days.

• Individual Responsibility: Lunch is a packed lunch, so each participant is responsible for bringing enough food for the entire day in the mountains. Likewise, it is crucial to ensure you have an adequate supply of water or other beverages to stay hydrated during physical activity. Guides can provide advice on this, but individual preparation is essential.

LOCATION OF OUTINGS (MARITIME ALPS AND POSSIBLE VARIATIONS)

• Main Geographical Area: Practical course outings will preferably take place in the beautiful Maritime Alps, a region rich in opportunities for learning alpine rock techniques.
• Possible Transfers: However, in order to optimize environmental conditions (weather, crowding, specific terrain) and ensure the best possible training experience, it is possible that some trips may be organized in Liguria (Finalese area), renowned for its cliffs and coastal environment, or in the Monviso area, an iconic mountain with unique mountaineering characteristics. Any changes in location will be communicated promptly via WhatsApp groups.
