Adjacent to the majestic Monviso, almost as if to protect it or perhaps to capture some of its imposing beauty, stands Visolotto (3,348 m a.s.l.). Often less celebrated than its illustrious neighbor, this peak nevertheless represents a fundamental and distinctive element of the Viso mountain group, offering unique perspectives and rewarding challenges for experienced mountaineers and hikers.
Its structure is imposing, characterized by rock faces that plunge toward the glacial cirques below, such as the Vallone delle Forciolline to the east and the Viso Glacier to the northwest. Its shape makes it recognizable by its massive and rugged profile, less slender than Monviso but no less fascinating.
Special thanks to Danilo Rabino for the kind use of the photographs.
Program
Day 1:
- Meet your mountain guide in Castello di Pontechianale (1,600 m a.s.l.) or at an agreed location. Depart for the hike toward Rifugio Vallanta (2,450 m a.s.l.) through the Vallone di Vallanta. The trail is well-marked and offers striking views. You can also choose to make the approach comfortably by e-bike. Arrival at the hut, check-in, rest, and evening briefing with the guide to prepare for the next day's climb. Dinner and overnight stay at the hut.
Day 2
- Wake up and breakfast at the hut. Departure at dawn for the climb to Visolotto. Head up the valley toward Colle di Vallanta, then detour toward Colle delle Cadreghe. The final mountaineering section winds over rocky terrain (blocks, debris, and slabs) with easy climbing passages (Grade I/II). Once you reach the summit (3,348 m a.s.l.), you can enjoy a splendid view of the North and West faces of Monviso.

7. Role of the Mountain Guide
The work of a Mountain Guide is a commercial activity in all respects which, as such, involves an engagement from both parties (guide and client) to ensure high quality of the service purchased. The Mountain Guide is solely responsible for carrying out the program and may, for various reasons (weather conditions, mountain conditions, physical condition of individual group members, safety, etc.), modify the course of the trip during the outing itself. It will always be the Mountain Guide's task to propose alternative dates or destinations to the main one.
8. Cancellations
Voluntary cancellation of a booking can be done by contacting our office at promotion@globalmoutain.it specifying your first name, last name, and the activity you were registered for. If you purchase an activity 60 days in advance of the first outing, you have 48 hours after purchase to cancel and you will receive a refund net of a 3% administration and management fee.
