An adventure between history and wild nature

The Ferrata degli Alpini on Mount Oronaye is much more than a simple via ferrata. It's a dive into history, a tribute to our Alpine troops, and an unforgettable experience for mountain lovers. Built in the 1930s and 1940s for strategic purposes, this via ferrata has been expertly restored and today offers an exciting and scenic route.

Starting from the hamlet of Viviere, you are immediately immersed in a fascinating Alpine environment. The trail, initially calm, gradually turns into a real adventure. Going up the Vallone di Enchiausa you go alongside the Valmaggia bivouac and then go back up towards the Enrico and Mario bivouac (about 1h30m). Near the latter, we tie up in a roped party and the mountaineering section begins. The via ferrata, carved into the rock, winds along exposed ledges, gullies and equipped passages that test the balance and strength of climbers (about 3 - 4 hours)

The Eagle's Nest and the final ridge

A particularly evocative moment is reaching the "Eagle's Nest," a small refuge carved into the rock that offers shelter and a breathtaking view. From here, the via ferrata continues towards Cima Dronero (3050m), tackling a more exposed but still well-equipped section.

For more experienced groups, the ascent can continue by crossing towards the actual summit of Oronaye (3100m): it is an ideal experience for those approaching mountaineering for the first time and thanks to the help of our Alpine Guides it will take place in safety. In this case the descent will take place along the Oronaye Normal Route, returning comfortably from the Col du Feuillas.

It's a challenging hike that requires good physical and technical preparation, but it rewards you with unforgettable experiences.
