Area

Provence

A breathtaking canyon in the heart of Haute-Provence characterized by perfect rock walls: this is the Verdon! A magical place where climbing history has been made, and continues to be made.

Watching over this enchanting place is the village of La Palud, an excellent starting point for any adventure on the gorge walls. A panoramic road, the Route des Crêtes, allows for a complete and very suggestive view of the entire canyon thanks to numerous viewpoints.

The peculiar characteristic of this place is that you start by going down: for most routes, it is necessary to abseil down the impressive walls to reach the start, often located on hanging gardens.

Alongside the many demanding routes, there are classic and modern itineraries with moderate difficulty, also characterized by excellent rock quality and always very fun.

This is a unique setting in which to enjoy climbing to the fullest, accompanied by the flight of griffon vultures and the emerald green of the Verdon river.

Program

DAY 1: early morning departure from Borgo San Dalmazzo towards La Palud-sur-Verdon (approx. 4 hours). Route choice among the numerous available paths (to be decided based on participants' level). Overnight stay in La Palud at a campsite or Gîte d'étape.

DAY 2: second route evaluated based on the group's level and preferences. Overnight stay in La Palud.

DAY 3: third route evaluated based on the group's level and preferences. Return to Borgo San Dalmazzo in the evening (approx. 4 hours).

This program is suitable both for those who want to try multi-pitch routes in the Verdon climbing as a second, and for those who are autonomous but have never faced the Verdon walls.
