Roya Valley, Ventimiglia
The Maglia Canyon, located in the Roya Valley, near Breil-sur-Roya in the French Maritime Alps (but very close to the Italian border), is one of the most renowned canyoning routes in Europe. It is famous for its scenic beauty and the excitement it offers to water sports enthusiasts. The proposed itinerary starts from the Rio Morghè and after a series of long alpine rappels, rejoins at the end of the Maglià.
Program
The first part of the canyon takes place inside the Rio Morghè, a long vertical slide equipped with numerous adrenaline-pumping rappels. It joins the Rio Maglià, offering a continuous alternation of jumps (up to 10 meters, although some can be avoided with rappels), breathtaking natural slides (toboggans, up to 12 meters), and sections to swim through in pools of crystal-clear water.
One of the highlights of the route is a large cave, rich in concretions, where the stream sinks underground and then re-emerges further downstream. This passage creates a unique and evocative atmosphere.
The canyon winds through a wild and spectacular natural environment, characterized by rocky walls and lush vegetation.

Daniele Macagno
Alpine Guide, Ski Instructor
He divides his residence between Peveragno and Limone, where he also works as a ski instructor. A strong mountaineer with an impressive track record, he works as a Mountain Guide with enthusiasm and professionalism. He is a National Instructor in the training courses for Mountain Guides. He works as a helicopter rescue technician for the emergency medical service 118.
Andrea Garelli
Alpine Guide
He lives in his native Maira Valley and engages in all aspects of mountain activities, but prefers remote and wild routes. A travel enthusiast, he has lived in both Barcelona and Sheffield, in the heart of the Peak District. He combines his passion with his work as an engineer.
Paolo Pernigotti
Alpine Guide
He lives in Vernante but spends most of his time traveling to ski and climb. After gaining experience at heli-ski bases, Paolo spends his winters between searching for powder in the Alps and guiding ski mountaineering and freeride trips around the world. In spring he mainly focuses on ski mountaineering on 4000-meter peaks, while in summer he works in high mountains (Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa, Gran Paradiso, etc.), as well as rock climbing and canyoning. Autumn is dedicated to discovering new ski and climbing spots in order to always offer new adventures.
Since 2015 he has been collaborating with Salomon as an ambassador.
