Corno Stella is the symbol mountain of classic and modern climbing in Cuneo. It offers always demanding itineraries, even when partially equipped with bolts, and a technical climbing style combined with a rather strict difficulty rating ethic. In addition to the classic routes, there are now many itineraries on the lower buttresses ideal for climbing school on long routes and first alpine experiences. Severe environment and rather high altitude require a conscious approach and suitable clothing!

Program

1st day

In the early afternoon, meet with the guide in Cuneo at the Global Mountain headquarters; after a brief check of individual equipment, transfer by car to Valle Gesso, heading towards Terme di Sant'Anna di Valdieri. After passing the thermal station, reach Gias delle Mosche where you leave the car. From here, climb on a trail to Rifugio Bozano (2 hours) where you have dinner and spend the night.

Option to do two days of climbing, going up with the guide already in the morning to climb a route on the Catena delle Guide (10 minutes from the refuge).

Day 2 Early morning wake-up, breakfast and departure on trail traces to reach the starting point of the chosen route. Climb the itinerary to the summit plateau and from there in a short time to the top of Corno Stella. Quick snack and after taking the ritual photos, proceed with the rappel descent that brings us back to the grassy ledge located halfway up the wall. Through exposed trail traces and downclimbing, reach the scree that will bring us first to the refuge and then down to the valley. Return expected in the evening.

In case of a single-day program, depending on the guide's availability, the guide may go up directly in the morning, therefore meeting directly at the refuge.
